Amcanion grŵp BOBs (Bwyd o Bwys) yw:

  • Gwella cyfleoedd i bobl ifanc gael dilyn diet iach ac i ddatblygu agwedd gadarnhaol tuag at fwyd ac iechyd.
  • Creu synnwyr o gyfrifoldeb a pherchnogaeth ymysg disgyblion ynghylch bwyd yn yr ysgol.
  • Hyrwyddo gwybodaeth am faeth a sgiliau coginio o safon.
  • Hyrwyddo cyflwyno prydau bwyta'n iach a brofwyd i fwydlen yr ysgol.
  • Argymell newidiadau.
  • Creu cydweithio rheng grwpiau perthnasol.
  • Cefnogi a hyrwyddo datblygiad Polisi Bwyd a Ffitrwydd yn yr ysgol.
  • Cefnogi argymhellion a nodir yn nogfen Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru Cynllun Gweithredu Blas am Oes.

Manteision Grwpiau BOBs:

  • Rhoi grym i ddisgyblion; galluogi disgyblion ysgol i roi eu barn ar y bwyd sydd ar gael yn yr ysgol.
  • Adeiladu partneriaeth;dod a phobl o bob agwedd ar addysg ynghyd tuag at nod cyffredin.
  • Addysgu disgyblion am faeth a phwysigrwydd bwyta'n iach.
  • Datblygu sgiliau coginio pobl ifanc.
  • Darparu gweithgareddau allgyrsiol i bobl ifanc gymryd rhan ynddynt.
  • Hyrwyddo hunan hyder/hunan barch pobl ifanc.
  • Darparu fframwaith i gefnogi datblygiad Polisi Bwyd a Ffitrwydd 'gweithredol'.

Aims of SNAG (The School Nutrition Action Group):

  • To enhance the opportunities for young people to access a healthy diet and to develop a positive attitude towards food and health.
  • Create a sense of responsibility and ownership amongst pupil population regarding food in school.
  • Promote sound nutrition knowledge and cooking skills amongst the school population.
  • Facilitate the introduction of trial and tested healthy dishes into the school menu
  • Make recommendation for change
  • Generate partnership working between relevant parties.
  • Promote the development of a Food in School Policy
  • Support recommendations set in the Welsh Assembly Government consulation document Appetite for Life, and susequent action plan.

Benefits of a School Nutrition Action Group:

  • Empowers students; enabling school pupils to give their views on the food available in school.
  • Partnership Building; bringing people from all aspects of education together towards a common goal.
  • Educates pupils about nutrition and the importance of healthy eating.
    Develops young people's cooking skills.
  • Provides extra-curricular activities for young people to be involved with.
  • Promotes self-confidence/self esteem in young people.
  • Promotes the development of a 'Whole School Food Policy'.
